Got a call from the Maine Revenue Service or Department or Something

I got back from lunch today while at work and I
had a phone message. I assumed it was Heather, since she's the only person that
calls me at work.
But, it was a message
from a Mike Somebody with the "State of Maine." He left a number and asked that
I call him back.
I'm thinking, trying
to remember anything that may have had to do with the State.
Nothing.
I call the number and get his
voicemail/machine. It says he's with the Maine Revenue
Something.
I leave a message and
immediately begin worrying about taxes. I did submit them and I did get money
back which the state did pay me. Was I being audited? Wouldn't something tax
related be the IRS? Was it some student loan thing? I've paid them every month
for a long while now. I was getting a little
nervous.
He calls
back.
"Thanks for calling me
back..."
Yeah, no
problem.
"You were listed as a
reference by your brother Scott McKenney... and some other stuff I wasn't
listening to... blah blah..."
Hold on.
I'm sorry but I don't have a brother
Scott.
"Huh. Do you know anyone named
Scott
McKenney?"
Nope.
"Have
you ever lived at 16 SomePlaceYou'veNeverLived
Road?"
No I haven't. My fears have
subsided greatly by now.
"Well, okay
then. I guess I need to find another
number!"
He apologizes. I say it fine.
I don't get audited or in some trouble for my student
loans.
I don't know what Scott's issue
is though.
