Dragan Field Disc Golf Championships Results 



I competed in my first big tournament this past weekend. Actually, I picked the biggest ever in Maine! There were 72 people competing.

I finished 15th out of 22 in my division. I was 11th after the first round and was hoping to move into the top 10, but the second round was a struggle. I had some better scores than the first round and some worse ones- definitely more up and down. I don't think I threw a single bogey the first round [but lacked some birdies] but had a 7 on a par 5 in the second. The 7 was due to two out-of-bounds penalties. I ended up with 5 or 6 of those on the day. A little more control and I would have easily been up in the standings.

Anyway, it was still a lot of fun. I played with some great guys and watched the pro guys play the extra 9. Those guys were so consistent. I didn't see them throwing anything I couldn't [in fact I saw a few really bad shots!] but they just didn't miss. No coming up a little short, or left, etc.

I've definitely got some practicing to do!

So no trophy this time. I didn't finish last either! And I did get some nice stuff just for entering. And there was tons of free pizza afterwards. After 9 hours or so of disc golf [including warm-up and time spent waiting before the tournament, the awards ceremony, etc] I ate a lot of my entry fee back.
