The latest news from Raymond,
ME:
As you may have seen on my page of
phone photos, we had our firewood delivered the weekend of September 24th. It
took us a few hours on Saturday and again on Sunday to get it all stacked in the
basement. But its done, looks good, and burns well the few times we've lit the
stove already.
This past weekend we
began painting. After an eventful trip to Home Depot that involved Heather
distracting a woman mixing paint until it overflowed, we borrowed a ladder and
got going. Heather did the taping and trim work while I taped the bits up high
and filled in with the roller. Just last night we did the second coat. Her
studio now has beautiful red pine floors and sage green walls. At some point
we'll get boards for trim to install and paint the existing trim around the
windows and doors. Tonight I hope to start at least taping the bedroom as well
as sanding the spackle from the holes I filled last week. The bedroom will be a
deep purpley color.
I'll get pics of
everything when I have decent daylight to work
with.
We're taking a break this weekend
and heading out to North Conway for some R&R. More on that next
week.
